| News Beakon Technologies is added to the “One Big Thing” list issued by the US Ambassador in Sweden Beakon Technologies was added to the “One Big Thing” list of alternative energy opportunities in Sweden on the New York Green Summit. The US Ambassador Michael Wood has launched an initiative called “One Big Thing”, an effort to promote alternative energy cooperation between the U.S. and Sweden. One important part of the effort is to identify and support Swedish sustainable initiatives. This is the fourth time the list is released and the number of companies has grown from the initial 30 to 52 companies. The “One Big Thing” effort claims that Sweden is filled with entrepreneurs who have great ideas for alternative energy but who lack the capital to turn the ideas into a successful business. The purpose of the list is to identify the best of those entrepreneurs to U.S. cleantech investors. Nicklas Larsson, CEO of Beakon Technologies, says, “being added to the list is a recognition of the importance of our technology in the sustainable society and gives us energy to strive hard towards our vision - Be considered as one of the most important contributors to reducing world energy waste by 2025. It will also give us publicity and will hopefully aid us attracting partners.” In the press release when issuing the fourth edition of the list Ambassador Wood stated, "I'm excited that the list has grown so much, nearly doubling in eighteen months. This shows that Sweden's spirit of innovation is still strong. I think companies also recognize that being on the list is a good way to generate publicity and gain exposure to potential U.S. partners. Beakon Technologies was founded 2005 based on a breakthrough innovation making it possible to produce high efficient thermoelectric elements.
